Coordinating Moves for Seniors
As certified Senior Move Managers, we’ve worked with a multitude of older adults moving to a smaller home or Continuing Care Community.
Scheduling and Supervising Movers
We start by securing one or more moving estimates. We’ve established great working relationships with several moving companies that allow for speed and efficiency and ultimately costs you less. We then coordinate a moving date with the company you choose. We will schedule the appropriate crew size, order the appropriate amount of boxes and materials, and supervise the movers throughout the entire move day. In addition, our experience gives us insight into additional details you may not consider, such as boarding your pets during the move to avoid possible distractions and distress.
Organization
We provide you with a move day bag to keep you organized in advance of and during the move. The bag includes a packet of information with all the details of your move, and custom checklists to make sure that nothing is forgotten. It is also a convenient place to keep medications and other items that need to stay with you during the move.
Communication
Our work, however, does not end with your belongings safely and securely on the truck. We will also communicate and coordinate those timelines with the staff at the new community you are moving to and work within their guidelines to ensure a smooth move at your destination.
As part of a full-service package that includes sorting, organizing, and decluttering; redistribution of unneeded belongings, and packing and unpacking, all of our senior moving services are scheduled accordingly to ensure that everything is ready for move day.
